Who
discovered the existence of the Bible Codes?
An ancient Jewish
tradition states that God dictated the Torah, (the first 5 books
of the Bible), to Moses, letter by letter, and that encrypted
in the text are names and events.
Several years ago,
three Israeli mathematicians, (Professor Elyahu Rips, a world
renown scientist from the Hebrew University and his colleagues,
Doron Witztum and Yoav Rosenberg), decided to study this belief
with the help of computers. They programmed a computer to scan
the Book of Genesis and search by “skip code”, (a decoding technique
called ELS, Equidistant Letter Sequences), for the encrypted
names of 32 sages who lived between the 9th and 18th centuries,
checking every nth letter, where n can take any value.
The program found
all the names, with the odds against this occurring by chance
calculated at 62,500 to 1.The researchers published the results
of their research in 1994, in the scholarly journal Statistical
Science, (Statistical Science 9:429-438)

What
is the “skip code”?
The skip code is
a decryption method that takes every nth letter, (where the
n value can be any number, from a minimum of 1 to a user specified
number which can be several thousands), and groups them to see
if they form a word or phrase, (which we call the “code”), specified
by the researcher.
The program arranges
the Torah, (first five books of the Bible), into a continuous
string of 304,805 Hebrew letters, and starts searching for the
specified code, from the first letter of Genesis, (or from any
other specified starting point), skipping from letter to letter
by the specified distance. If the program does not find the
specified word, it starts with the second letter of Genesis,
and repeats the skip search. Then it starts with the third letter,
and so on until if finds the specified word. If, and when, the
code is found the program rearranges the text into an array
whose length is the nth distance in the skip code. For example
the Hebrew letters in Yitzhak Rabin's name are found with a
distance between them of 4772, (between Deuteronomy 2:33 to
Deuteronomy 24:16), therefore the array is 4772 letters across.

Is
there internal evidence in the Bible for the existence of the
Bible Codes?
The following are
some of the verses which are the basis for believing the existence
of the Bible codes:
a) “And the LORD
said unto Moses, Write thou these words: for after the tenor
of these words I have made a covenant with thee and with Israel.”
Exodus 34:27
b) “And it came
to pass, when Moses had made an end of writing the words of
this law in a book, until they were finished.” Deuteronomy
31:24
c) “But thou,
O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the
time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall
be increased.” Daniel 12:4
d) “For verily
I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle
shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.”
Matthew 5:18

Is
Bible Codes 2000 the same program used by Professor Rips in
his pioneering research?
Bible Codes 2000 uses the same mathematical “skip code” method
used by Dr. Rips, but it is not the same software. Dr. Rips
did his pioneering research in the 80’s, before the advent of
Windows, and published his findings in 1994. Computronic Corporation,
the leading Israeli developer of Bible software, uses the same
skip code in its own program, developed under Windows, adding
at the same time many other features, which are described below.
The program includes the text of the whole Tanach, from Genesis
to II Chronicles. Its Hebrew text is the authorized Koren text,
shown with “nikud” (vowels).

Can
Bible Codes 2000 replicate and confirm the discoveries which
appear in the several books about the codes which have been
published?
The answer is yes! You can search, replicate and confirm by
yourself every single one of the discoveries revealed in the
several code books which have been published and, of course,
you can also do your own searching and make your own discoveries.
The letters that form the code will appear on a list and also
in the text highlighted in another color. The program allows
you to color individually any other letter or word in the array,
vertically, diagonally or horizontally, in what is called the
“crossword puzzle” effect, and print it.

What
other features does Bible Codes 2000 have?
Bible Codes 2000 has been designed to help biblical students
and scholars to explore the hidden dimensions and depths of
the Hebrew Bible's text, not only by searching for hidden codes,
but by using other tools such as concordance, verse retrieval,
letter analysis, and others which appear in the List of Features.

What
are the program requirements?
To use the Bible Codes 2000 program you need an IBM or compatible,
with a minimum of 8 MB of RAM, a hard disk drive with at least
70 MB of available disk space, a CD drive, a VGA or higher resolution
monitor, and Microsoft Windows. It can be used in Macintosh
computers which have the hardware and software to emulate PC
computers.

Does
the program include a manual?
Yes! The program includes a detailed manual, and on line help
files as well as tutorials, but it is so easy to use that most
likely you will not find it necessary to consult the manual.

My
Windows system is not Hebrew supporting. Will I be able to see
Hebrew on the screen?
Yes! The program shows the text in the Hebrew characters whether
your system is Hebrew supporting, (i.e. Windows Israel) or not
(Windows USA and other countries). You will also be able to
print Hebrew text directly from the program, or cut and paste
Hebrew to your word processor.

I
don’t know Hebrew. Would that prevent me from using the program?
Not at all! Although the codes are found on the original Hebrew
text, encrypted in Hebrew characters, you can specify a search
code in English. The program, using its built-in bilingual English/Hebrew
- Hebrew/English dictionary and other bilingual data bases,
will translate the code to Hebrew, search, retrieve the matrix,
and translate the found words from Hebrew back to English.

What
is Super Milon / Jerusalem Dictionary?
Although, with Bible Codes 2000 there is no need for an additional
program to search the Bible, we offer a companion program, which
is always in the background of the screen, ready to help you
learn Hebrew or improve your knowledge of the language: Super
Milon is an extensive English/Hebrew, Hebrew/English dictionary
thesaurus, which includes bilingual synonyms, antonyms, thousands
of phrases and expressions translated from one language to the
other, and the conjugatations to thousands of Hebrew verbs.
A great tool for students of Hebrew! Our lastest version of
Super Milon which also works under WINDOWS 95, 98, ME, 2000
and NT has been upgraded with new advanced features, it will
also translate words from Hebrew web sites.
